Reginald Santana thought he had paid his debt to society when he was released from prison and found work shaping surfboards in San Luis Obispo California. Someone disagreed and left Reginald's body lying on his living room floor. He had been brutally murdered in a most creative way. The only apparent clue was a uniquely coded handwritten poem signed "The Trash Collector." The case goes unsolved and nothing more is heard from The Trash Collector until years later when Joshua Ward escapes prosecution on an open-and-shut child abduction and murder case in Orange County, California. Within days after Ward's release his mangled body is found near the state beach in San Clemente, California. A coded poem turns up at a local newspaper and leaves no doubt The Trash Collector is back. More bodies of sadistically murdered bad people--people who deserved to die-- start turning up. With each body comes another poem and each is addressed to Trevor Wilkins, the investigating officer. What secret is Trevor Wilkins hiding about his investigation into The Trash Collector murders? Is he really a top notch sheriff's investigator, or is he something else? Could he be The Trash Collector?Read The Trash Collector’s entertaining first person account of the murders through the eyes of a psychopathic killer who really enjoys the work. The Trash Collector will leave you questioning who’s side you are on the psychopath who is killing people who need killing, or the Sheriff’s Investigators who’s duty it is to put a stop to it.

"Fast moving mystery that held my attention. Accurate pieces of geography, police work, attorney's life and just enough romance. Realistic characters and action with lots of twists and turns. Some moral dilemmas we probably all think about.
AMAZING FIRST NOVEL! Hope there will be a sequel."

THE TRASH COLLECTOR POETIC JUSTICE Chester Edward Bennett Books Reviews
- This is an amazing murder mystery that keeps the reader on the edge. The author also challenges the reader to reflect on his/her moral code. Me? Forget about it! I want to know what the Trash Collector is up to next.
After I read this novel I tried to find other mysteries written by Mr. Bennett. Couldn't find anything. He better be hard at work writing the sequel. - This is a well crafted story! I couldn't put it down, first book I have read all night in a long time. I appreciated the accuracy of the locations. I recommend it to everyone.
- I really enjoyed the Book. Excellent character development and the plot kept you guessing. There needs to a sequel, and soon.
- I found this author's first writing attempt quite entertaining. I am an average reader, but I could hardly ever put the book down. I hope Mr. Bennett continues to write more books. I am a retiree of the same company, So Cal Edison Co, that Mr. Bennett works for. Great job. Keep up the good work.
- This in my opinion is as good a read if not better than the Michael Connelly books and could become a series of books as Connelly has done with the Harry Bosch series.
There has to be a sequel - Great book. Keeps you in suspense all the way through. Loved it. Five stars.
- The book was very good, I can relate to the places in the book growing up in South Orange County. I also have visited Borrego Springs many times. The book was suspenseful to the end. It was hard putting it down. A very good read
