God and the Atheist Paul Ferguson 9781932307726 Books Reviews

  • Would you have known?
A must read for anybody Christian or Atheist with questions. If you are open minded and really want to know what's all about it, then be brave enough to read this well researched book. I enjoyed it very much and thank the author!
  • Great Book!
  • great teaching from another view point.
  • This is a good, clear, and concise book. It is a quick read and brings together excelent thoughts. I enjoyed it.
  • My goodness. I was very much looking forward to reading this book... then I got to the point where he starts using the same arguments as every other Christian apologist I've every spoken to and uses all the exact same fallacies and so on. Gave up on it. I thought he was going to try to take a logical look and represent the case a a lawyer, not purely as a Christian. It would have been interesting if he'd followed the premise for the books, no matter what side he chose. The fact that the entire book is completely biased and he used the same old argument that because we can't see atoms or music or wind etc. but still believe (which we don't, belief is believing in something you have no evidence for, there's plenty of evidence for these things so they require NO belief to accept them) they exist it somehow takes faith to be an atheist? No. That's not how this works. There is evidence for the existence of things we can't see with the naked eye. We can prove they exist via science. There is clear evidence for their existence and there's enough evidence to allay any doubts as to these thing's existences. Therefore it requires no belief. Secondly, those things have nothing to do with the belief or disbelief in a deity. Atheism is PURELY the disbelief in a deity. You can believe in the literal six headed dragon Hiram McDaniels but you will STILL be an atheist (a very strange and illogical atheist, but an atheist nevertheless) as long as you don't believe Hiram McDaniels is a deity or that anything you believe in is a deity. This book is filled with the same kind of nonsense and ignorance as all the other arguments against atheists, even though they've been debunked repeatedly. Nothing new here, what a let down. . This is like saying that if you get smacked in the face and it hurts you're a masochist. xD It's like, what? You don't see the flaw in the argument here?
  • Fantastic read!! The best book out there outside of the bible. The only thing I hate is that he doesn't have more books out there!!!
